Transnet invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Young Professional (Regulatory & Compliance) Graduate Internship Programme 2023 / 2024.

Internship Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent should have the capacity to coordinate efforts to reposition the regulatory compliance function within the Corporate Affairs department.

This entails the ability to embed accountability for assignments and activities related to regulatory compliance risks.

Furthermore, the incumbent should be able to coordinate controls and procedures integrally during the execution of compliance management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE ADVISORY SERVICES

  • Input into Transnet policies, strategies, corporate plans, business plans, etc.
  • Coordinate projects supporting Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting.
  • Coordinate Compliance opinions.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE RISK IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS

  • Coordinate maintenance of the regulatory universe.
  • Coordinate monitoring and tracking of Bills, and pending legislations impacting Transnet.
  • Coordinate analysis of legislation for input into regulatory compliance processes.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE RISK ASSESSMENT AND MANAGEMENT

  • Coordinate risk assessment of the regulatory universe.
  • Development and review of regulatory compliance risk management plans.
  • Tracking implementation of controls/tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND COMPETENCE

  • Legal Qualification (LLB) or
  • Bachelor of Commerce or
  • 3-year Risk Management Diploma.
  • Honours degree or Postgraduate qualifications in legal studies.
  • Honours degree will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to travel and after-hours work.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Strong computer literacy in MS Office and Windows programs;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to deliver within time frames as reflected in project plans;
  • Ability to keep up with the latest development on compliance management;
  • Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to develop and understand policy implications to compliance management;
  • Good people management skills;
  • Maintain an effective and efficient records management system.
